ACCA and WWF will host the Green Economy Forum 2012 on June 21, 2012 in Karachi. The high profile event will encompass panel discussion on green economy followed by the ACCA-WWF Pakistan Environmental Reporting Award Ceremony (PERA).
As world leaders share viewpoints at the RIO+20, the ACCA-WWF Green Economy Forum Pakistan 2012 will look at the implementation of strategies and global agendas to the environmental and sustainability practices in Pakistan. The discussion will be focused on crises in climate, biodiversity, fuel, food, water and the financial system we witness today. It is clear that a new economic system needs to be developed to avoid large scale irreversible disasters – an economic system that will help alleviate the numerous risks posed by the crises noted above, as well as provide a number of opportunities for growth and prosperity.
The discussion forum will be led by industry experts including Mr Shah Murad Aliani – Country Representative IUCN Pakistan, Mr Asad Ali Shah – Partner, M. Yousuf Adil Saleem & Co (Deloitte), Mr Syed Javed Hassan – CEO Institute of Capital Markets, Ms Fariyha Subhani – CEO Unilever Foods Pakistan, Mr Ali Hassan Habib – Director General WWF Pakistan and Mr Arif Masud Mirza – Head of ACCA Pakistan. The panel discussion will be moderated by Ms Rina Saeed Khan – Environmental Journalist.
Mr Amjad Janjua – CEO & Managing Director Asia Petroleum Ltd., will make a keynote address on behalf of the panel of judges of the PERA.
Dr Ishrat Husain, Director & Dean, Institute of Business Administration Karachi has kindly consented to be the chief guest in the event.
The ACCA-WWF Pakistan Environmental Reporting Awards is endorsed by the Business Council for Sustainable Development Pakistan and IUCN.
